To help meet AIM Academy’s mission, we are sharing materials, modules, courses and webinars to help the integrated photonics industry and academia prepare students, technicians, engineers, and researchers to build productive careers in the emerging Integrated Photonics Industry, by systematically creating and disseminating scalable, stackable effective educational modules, courses and programs, comprised of state-of-the-art content and pedagogical best practices. The content for modules, courses, and educational offerings will be guided by the Roadmap and Workforce needs assessment, and drawn from AIM Photonics research and technical projects.

Teaching Materials

Design of Photonic Integrated Devices and Circuits

Integrated Silicon Photonics

AIM Academy’s teaching materials include:

  • teaching materials for faculty to use to teach the module/course at their universities. These teaching materials typically contain syllabus, blueprint, materials (ex. readings, handouts, visuals, labs, exercises, demonstrations), instructor notes, assessments and solutions
  • interactive online modules/courses build upon the basic teaching materials and will additionally contain such elements as text, graphics, audio, video, animation, assessment, feedback, forums, etc. to enhance the instructor-led materials previously developed. These online modules will be available for direct access by learners. (Coming in late 2016/early 2017)

These materials are available to faculty of AIM Academy partner universities upon request.
