Universities

As photonics manufacturing matures in the pubic/private sector, MS/MEng and PhD graduate students need to rapidly master emerging standards that leverage a “fabless” fabrication process in collaboration with a Si foundry such as the facility available at AIM Photonics. AIM Photonics Academy provides a range of learning and apprenticeship experiences suitable for training in advanced photonic integrated circuit design, including teaching packages for co-designing university level courses; attendance at conferences that bring together industry and the nation’s leading academics; participation in the industry’s integrated photonics roadmap; and certification from AIM’s Summer Academy courses.

Partnership with AIM Photonics Academy provides access to additional collaborative opportunities such as participation in calls for proposals; eligibility for AIM Academy’s internship matching program; and certification in AIM Academy’s upcoming online education courses.

Current university partners include:

  • Boston University
  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  • SUNY Polytechnic Institute
  • University of California, Santa Barbara
  • University of California, Davis
  • Rochester Institute of Technology
  • University of Rochester
  • The University of Arizona
